The Ida-Virumaa Tourism Cluster began teaching hospitality last autumn. Now, 18 of the best tourism companies have received special hospitality badges. These companies work hard to make their guests feel very welcome.
Companies that are very welcoming get a badge shaped like a golden heart. But what guests notice most is the warm welcome. The goal is for guests to be greeted with a smile everywhere they go. They should learn about the area’s attractions and hear interesting stories. Guests should feel at home.
Hospitality is a basic part of tourism, but there is always room to improve. The hospitality badge is a sign of good service. For example, in a restaurant, the food should be tasty. But what people remember most is how they were treated. The goal is to create special experiences for guests.
Most of the hospitality badges were given to spas and hotels in Ida-Virumaa. Fewer restaurants received badges. The area could use more places to eat. These don’t need to be fancy. Instead, they should feel cozy and offer real, local experiences.
The Ida-Virumaa Tourism Cluster hopes that tourists will share their experiences after visiting these welcoming places. The next hospitality badges will be given out in one year.
