Special Train Moves to Haapsalu

A special train called MEV-1 moved to Haapsalu from Pääsküla. Workers used cranes to lift it into place on Friday. First, they lifted the base. Then, they lifted the body. This train was used in the 1990s for moving other trains. When new trains arrived, it stopped working. An Elron worker, Oliver Kuks, said this train is very special. The train was made by Estonian workers. They changed a motor coach into this train. There is no other train like it in the world. Talis Vare, the museum director, said it is unique. The train was made in Estonia. It is the first of its kind. Other trains exist, but not like this one. Kuks said it is the only one. The train has not worked since 2013. In recent years, it has been in a museum. Pääsküla now has new Škoda trains. So, the special train moved to Haapsalu. The train is 20 meters long. It weighs more than 50 tons. The museum will share the story of this train. Vare said they will create an exhibition about its history.
