Last Saturday was a special day in Peipsiääre. About 30 homes sold old things in their yards. People sold furniture, clothes, and other items.
Meelis said, 'I have an old wallet. It is 80-90 years old. I don’t use it, but maybe someone else will.'
There were also old fishing nets and items from the Old Believers. Jevgeni said, 'These nets are handmade. My great-grandfather made them. The fishermen were Old Believers.'
Some people came to find specific things. Others bought things they liked. Imre said, 'I found a beautiful painting. I liked it right away.'
Marika said, 'We bought books. We also want to buy an old stove from the same place.'
Kairi Güsson, the head of Peipsimaa Heritage Center, said, 'People are starting to value old items more. The yard sale day is a good new tradition in Sibulatee.'
